●○8 Ball Zineswww.8ballzinefair.com8 Ball came from an un-planned and spontaneous decision made by three friends, Giuseppe Furcolo, Josh Hubbard and Lele Saveri to help a small Billiard Hall in Brooklyn from going out of business. Between January and July of 2012, Grand Billiard hosted events, parties, screenings, launches and other sorts of gatherings. Then in June of that year, they decided to invite local publishers and artists to show and sell their products on the pool tables. This was the first 8-Ball zine fair.
At the center of the fair there was a Drop Off table where anyone could come in and drop off their stuff to be sold. This became the core of the community, un-selected and free, gave everyone the feeling of being part of it.
The fair now repeats twice a year in NYC and once in SF.
8-Ball Crew has expanded since then, producing other events, a radio station, a public access TV, workshops, parties, libraries, books, zines, a gallery, a members-only club and a special newsstand that sold only self publications and lived for 7 months in the subway system of NY, The Newsstand, now reproduced as an installation part of the New Photography 2015 show at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.

●○Accattonewww.accattone.beSelf-published by two architects and two graphic designers, Accattone explores 'minor' practices in art and architecture through the specific means of the printed magazine. In the current landscape of non-commercial publications, its originality lies in the strong visual orientation and in the close association of methods, editorial devices and featured contents. Each issue condensates a dozen contributions resonating with one another: from their sheer confrontation, several themes emerge. Through these experiments, Accattone addresses a fundamental aspect of architectural thinking and practice: the working document and the changing status of the image in the design process.

●○FAK / Feminist Collectivewww.fakworks.deBODY OF WORK is the first publication of the feminist collective FAK. It is devoted to the linkages between body and work: The significance of the outer appearance on the labor market has increased, our body is supposed to represent our adaptability as well as our individuality. We are surrounded by others who are speaking the body language of success, assuring us that we can make it just as far as long as we work hard enough on ourselves. This makes us dream of social advancement, but while our surface shimmers and glows the appreciation of our work is often missing. BODY OF WORK discusses the work on and with the body and asks for the possibilities of emancipation. With the publication FAK begins to search for the potential of our body as a means of opposition and subversion and examines how ideals of resistance are often reused as empty slogans and undermined by capitalism. Is emancipation even possible in this cycle and what is the price we have to pay for it? Within this issue, a dynamic arises between assertion and appearance, between theory and practice, between a stance of subversive refusal and radical advocacy, between a collective body of FAK and the work of each individual.
